Police are investigating two robberies carried out by a man or older teen and a boy, aged about 10.
The first robbery took place at 2:58 p.m., Friday, June 1, at the "Pepper Box" food cart, 2737 Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. An African American male in his late teens or early 20s grabbed the cart attendant from behind, while a boy, aged about 10-11 years old, grabbed money. The pair then fled on foot.
The second robbery was on 6:28 p.m., Saturday June 2. A man and a boy robbed "The Meadow", 3731 North Mississippi Ave. This time, the many told the victim he would hurt her if she yelled. "The Meadow" is a specialty shop selling salts, chocolates, flowers and other items.
The older male is described as an African American, 20-30 years old, 5'10" to 6' tall, medium build, wearing all black clothes. The boy is described as African American, approximately 10 years old, 4'5" to 4'8" tall, brown shirt and blue jeans.
